Love isn’t always bright and shiny.

Sometimes, it’s dirty and wrong, buried six feet deep in a secret place where only wild things dare to go. Hidden behind a big black curtain that covers things no one should ever see.

Sometimes it happens between two people who should never be allowed to come together. One who is a match, and the other who just happens to be gasoline.

One strike is all it takes to burn the whole world down, and that’s exactly what they plan on doing.

Even if it kills them.

Primal Scream in Red

DULCIE TRAVERS, STUDENT ID #417336

SENIOR PROJECT: ART SHOW AND INSTALLATION

GRADE: 3.7/5

Student shows tremendous creativity and talent. Particular favorite pieces – Lady in Blue, Feet, Circles, and Maple Leaf. The piece Primal Scream in Red shows real growth.

But still, am troubled by the progression of light to dark in the pieces. Shadow Man, Fanged Scream, and Bloody Hands seem almost like a cry for help. Student has always favored the dark side of art, but anymore, I find her work worrisome. Have warned her that pieces like that will keep her out of a respectable art school.

Have spoken with both the principal and the guidance counselor – student tests normal across the board. No altercations, no demerits, not problems with discipline or authority. No recent reports from CPS. Wondering if maybe a talk with her pastor would help? Will recommend.

5 for effort. 4 for talent. 2 for shown work.
