✭ NBJ TOP RECOMMENDATION | ENEMIES TO LOVERS
As the middle son, Trey Blackburn dedicates his days to the family business, working to ensure that they remain at the top of the saddelbred industry. His time away from the farm is another story. Not one to get tied up in a long-term relationship, he’s the love ‘em and leave ‘em sort of guy. But Trey’s hesitation to commit might be deeper than not wanting to put in the time and effort. His reluctance may have more to do with the blond beauty who just blew back into town and the things they left in the past that have been neither forgiven nor forgotten.
Holland Rhodes may not have been born into the Blackburn name, but she was once considered part of the family. Having a less-than-ideal home life, Holland spent as much time as she could with the Blackburns, the quintessential dynasty full of love and southern hospitality. Dubbed an honorary member, Holland thought their connection would last a lifetime, but one shocking revelation changed everything.
Having left Shelbyville for a fresh start, Holland has limited her time back in Kentucky for the past decade, avoiding both of her families—the one into which she was born and the one into which she was welcomed. But the death of her father and the uncertain future of the family business has brought Holland back to face her past, one Blackburn at a time.
With old feelings reignited and ready to move their relationship forward, everything crashes to a halt when tragedy strikes. Their painful history in danger of repeating itself, Trey and Holland may find that even true love can’t overcome the darkest days.
This is a standalone novel in the Bluegrass Empires series. Set among the rolling hills of Kentucky horse farms and bourbon distilleries, these seductive tales are steeped in bloodline feuds that run deep and without forgiveness.

SECOND CHANCES + BILLIONAIRE ROMANCE + SMALL TOWN
I thought I’d seen the last of Crystal Fork, Montana. When I’d left years ago with my dreams totally shattered, I’d never wanted to see that location again. Ever!
Now, here I was, living in my home town again, the same small town that my ex-fiance, Tanner Remington, called home.
It had been over seven years.
I should be over him, right?
Yeah, that’s what I thought until I saw his gorgeous face again.
Tanner and I had some unfinished business between the two of us, and I wasn’t a woman who ran away from that anymore.
The problem was that I was still ridiculously attracted to him, and I wasn’t sure I could trust Tanner enough to tie up those loose ends and squelch the town gossip that was making my life miserable in Crystal Fork.
How could I actually make peace with a man who had once turned my life upside down?
Unfortunately, I didn’t really have a choice.
I’d just have to hope that Crystal Fork was big enough for both of us and that I could go back to ignoring him after we were forced to spend time together.
Turns out, that was wishful thinking on my part because ignoring the alluring, handsome, new and different Tanner Remington was a whole lot harder than I’d thought…

The fate of a cursed nation depends on a princess who must outwit a mortal enemy and outlast the trials of a death-defying ritual…
Lia is the princess of Locris, a dying desert nation cursed centuries ago by an earth goddess—one still worshipped by the thriving and adversarial nation of Ilion. This year, Lia is one of the hunted.

There’s something downright breathtaking about a Kate Canterbary novel and the way her characters pull you in straightaway with the sheer freshness and candour of their quirks and wit. But it’s the way she then breaks them wide open, tenderly, carefully, that has you hooked on her every word. Two perfect strangers meet at a wedding—he’s the best man, she’s not even supposed to be there—thinking one unforgettable night of passion would be all they’d ever have. But when their paths cross again, their new working relationship throws a wrench in any desire they might have of pursuing a romantic connection. Canterbary takes the familiar workplace romance trope and turns it on its head in this heartwarming, fun, thoughtful story about finding the courage to believe in love, and it just so happens to be one of my favourite reads of the year.
A young woman stricken by grief after the gruesome murder of her beloved mother moves into a secluded cabin by the lake, looking for peace and quiet, only to discover that she is not only sharing the lake with a rowdy neighbour, but the lake is also believed to be haunted by lovers who were murdered there almost two decades before. We return to Misted Pines with yet another intricately plotted, beautifully paced, spine-tingling whodunit with a beautiful love story (or three) at its core. This gripping tale about long-buried secrets, family bonds, and unexpected twists had me guessing until the very end.
The majestic landscapes of the Scottish Highlands have been stirring the hearts of romantics for countless centuries, and Samantha Young’s aptly named series continues to echo the romantic allure of its idyllic setting with yet another unputdownable love story, this time of the marriage-of-convenience kind. She pairs a pragmatic, self-reliant Scottish farmer with the rebellious younger daughter of a Hollywood power couple, in this slow-burning, friends to lovers romance that hits all the right emotional beats. An absolute must-read!
Paranormal romances are so rarely my jam these days, having read little else during my twenties and thirties, but Ali Hazelwood’s brand of sharp-witted, lovelorn shenanigans is always hard to resist, even more so when her new marriage of convenience romp happens to be of the blood-sucking and howling variety. She takes the star-crossed lovers, fated mates tropes to new heights in this spicy, unputdownable tale of two mortal enemies who agree to marry in order to uphold the peace between their species. I loved the story, the characters, the dialogues, even all the drawn-out miscommunication angst, but Ali Hazelwood had me at knotting, and I’m (k)not embarrassed to admit it. (K)not even a little.
