One memory.
One special summer.
The one thing Bliss had lost herself in when the fear and sickness were too much, moments never to be damaged by the harsh reality that followed… until now.Bliss York didn’t live a normal teenage life. She didn’t go to Friday night football games, walk the halls with her friends every day, go to her prom or even walk to receive her diploma. It had all been taken from her the fall that she was fifteen years old and she was given the diagnosis no one ever wants to hear.
She had leukemia.
Seven years after spending a summer with a girl who he knew would always be his first love and the one who got away, Nate Finlay returns to Sea Breeze to help his fiancé open her new boutique clothing store. When the new employee walks in Nate is taken back seven years to the girl he thought he’d love forever. The one who never answered his calls or returned his text. The one who shut him out completely with not even a goodbye and broke his heart.
They’ve each become someone different. No longer the young teens with stars in their eyes. But does that matter when your heart still says that’s the one.
This is a Rosemary Beach and Sea Breeze series crossover novel, introducing a new generation of characters.
They called him Mack Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the nickname. Perfect, right?
So was he: perfect. The perfect physical male specimen.
At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.
Everyone wanted a piece of the hot single father of the sweet little boy.
I was riddled with jealousy, because they didn’t know that—to me—he was much more.
They didn’t know about our past.
He’d chosen my school for his son on purpose, because Mack and I, we had unfinished business.
As my friend, Lorelai, so eloquently put it: “Unfinished business between two people who are clearly attracted to each other is like an eternal case of blue balls.” And I was suffering in pain from my case.
I was still intensely attracted to Mack. I tried to resist him, immersing myself further into a relationship with another man just to protect my heart.
Not to mention, getting involved with a parent was strictly against school rules. But seeing Mack day in and day out was breaking me down.
And soon I might be breaking all the rules.
This is a standalone second chance romance novel.

Aly Martinez excels in the Romantic Suspense genre as always, effortlessly combining nail-biting action with flawless development of her characters, and with this book, she had my undivided attention from the very first page. Hot, angsty, emotional, this is the story of two people forever tied to one another by one fated incident that changed their lives irreversibly, a tale of second chances and reclaimed destinies, of forgiveness and redemption, and of catching each other after the fall.
A charming, comforting read start to finish, underneath this book’s witty narrative and playful tone hides a tender, passionate love story between two lifelong nemeses who keep blurring that fine line between love and hate over and over again, until they can’t even remember why they hated one another in the first place. I cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone seeking a lighthearted, sexy romance that would leave them smiling from ear to ear.
One of the most beautiful, poignant, and breathtaking stories I have ever read, this book not only embodies the consistently high calibre of Leylah Attar’s writing, or its timeless elegance, but the transcendent quality of her prose takes the reader’s soul on a journey like no other, leaving us gasping for air in its aftermath. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the African Serengeti, this extraordinary love story is also a compelling and, at times, sobering reminder of life’s many bittersweet moments, and of how much hope can be found among the ashes of one’s heart. SIX STARS!
I’ve been a fan of Cherrie Lynn’s writing for many years, so I always get ridiculously giddy with anticipation whenever one of her books is set to release. The perfect marriage of romance and steam, her stories crackle with sexual chemistry—her bedroom scenes featuring some of the most intense, arousing sex I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading—but it is the emotion that is ever-present in her every word that keeps me coming back for more. And this book did not disappoint. It quite literally rocked my world.
A compelling and moving tale of love between two people inexplicably tied by fate, whose journeys to one another might have been long and riddled by loss, but whose connection remains forever written in the stars—this is a book I adored, cover to cover, and I can’t sing enough praises about its every beautiful word. In my eyes, A.L. Jackson is both poet and remarkable storyteller, and after every one of her books, I soar away certain of having found a new favourite.
We’ve known of Daisy and Marcus Sloan for so long, it felt like we knew them already, but nothing could have prepared us for the heart-wrenching story Kristen Ashley was waiting to tell. Technically a novella, this book never short-changes its reader with its brevity—it sinks its hooks into our hearts very early on in the story, and amazes us page after page with its unexpected intensity, its well-rounded characters, and its unwavering focus on the growing emotional bond between them.
So happy that one of my last reads of the year ended up being a SIX-STAR read!!! I never expected to find this perfect of a story, never even hoped I would connect with it so profoundly and adore its characters so much, but this book ended up being one of the most beautiful, poignant stories I have ever read. The author writes with such emotional intelligence, with so much heart and wit, it is impossible not to fall in love with these characters to the point of willingly losing ourselves in their every interaction. The story remains emotionally driven beginning to end, with no great highs or lows, but rather a constant stream of heartening moments that warm our souls from the inside out.
