Every workplace has that one person you don’t want to mess with.
At James & Peterson Investigations, that would be Cameron Grant: sullen, grouchy, intimidating, oh yeah, and sexy as hell. He can make your soul wither with a single disapproving glare. And he never, ever socialises with his co-workers.
This is why Maisie Wilkins, happy-go-lucky ray of sunshine, can’t fathom why Cameron finally decided to show up at their annual office Christmas party. Every year he received an invite, and every year he failed to attend. But not this year.
Curious as to why he’s there, Maisie can’t resist sitting next to Cameron. Before she knows it, she’s had one too many drinks and is drunkenly hailing a cab back to his place. Office party flings are not something she normally does, but despite his intimidating character, Cameron has a charm she can’t resist. Or maybe it was just those five gin and tonics blurring her judgement.
Whatever the reason, Maisie now has to navigate the awkward, tension filled waters of sharing an office with someone she’s slept with.

He was the complete opposite of her, ready and willing to dive off a cliff-face, or parachute across a canyon—and Laya loved him for it. EROTIC THRILLER
“Must be slim, able to stand for long periods of time, and be impervious to the cold.”
The headline caught my attention.“Hours are negotiable, pay is minimal, clothing absolutely forbidden.”
The second line piqued my curiosity.“Able to hold your bladder and tongue, refrain from opinions or suggestions, and be the perfect living canvas.”
The third made me scowl.“Other attributes required: non-ticklish, contortionist, and obedient. Must also enjoy being studied while naked in a crowd.”
The fourth made me shudder.“Call or email ‘YOUR SKIN, HIS CANVAS’ if interested in applying.”
The final made my heart race.I should’ve kept scrolling past the advertisement.
I should’ve applied for the boring receptionist job at minimum wage.
I should’ve clicked on any other job where I got to keep my clothes on.
But I didn’t.
I applied.

A stunning new novel about courage, hope, and learning to love against all odds…
Cassie Hanwell was born for emergencies. As one of the only female firefighters in her Texas firehouse, she’s seen her fair share of them, and she’s a total pro at other people’s tragedies. But when her estranged and ailing mother asks her to give up her whole life and move to Boston, Cassie suddenly has an emergency of her own.
The tough, old-school Boston firehouse is as different from Cassie’s old job as it could possibly be. Hazing, a lack of funding, and poor facilities mean that the firemen aren’t exactly thrilled to have a “lady” on the crew—even one as competent and smart as Cassie. Except for the infatuation-inspiring rookie, who doesn’t seem to mind having Cassie around. But she can’t think about that. Because love is girly, and it’s not her thing. And don’t forget the advice her old captain gave her: Never date firefighters. Cassie can feel her resolve slipping…and it means risking it all—the only job she’s ever loved, and the hero she’s worked like hell to become.

The history of magic is as long as time and as wide as the world. In every culture, in every age, in every place and, probably, in every heart, there is magic.
Well-known folkloric creatures like giants, dragons and merpeople, and lesser-known beings such as Acromantula and Hippogriffs, all play a key role in Harry Potter’s journey. In the past, naturalists and explorers travelled the globe to encounter weird and wonderful creatures that enhanced our knowledge of the world and pushed forward the development of science. Nevertheless, it seems part of human nature to want to believe in the unbelievable: from the bestiaries and cabinets of curiosities of the medieval period onwards. We think that truth and myth are easily distinguished today, but magical creatures and the stories around them continue to fascinate us – and they are as central to the Harry Potter stories as Harry, Hermione and Ron.
This eBook short examines the colourful characters and curious incidents of the real history of magic, and how they relate to the Hogwarts lesson subjects of Care of Magical Creatures.
This is the final of four short, non-fiction eBooks exploring the “traditional folklore and magic at the heart of the Harry Potter series.” The collection is framed around various Hogwarts lessons.

If anyone ever asks you why you read romance books, tell them to read this book! The perfect escapist summer read, Leylah Attar’s latest gem is everything I’ve come to expect from this incredibly gifted storyteller—evocative, moving, witty, sublimely written—and it’s the kind of story that fills you with delight from the moment you start reading it. Attar transports us to an exotic paradise of sun-kissed beaches and crystal-clear waters, a place where reality looks and feels like a dream, and where a young woman finally finds herself in the arms of a man who makes her feel brave, loved, and weightless in a world that has held her down for too long. This is by far one of my favourite books of the year.
l am SO in love with this story and the characters, it’s downright ridiculous. And the hardest part is that I can’t even tell you what it’s truly all about because of the way the author wove that twist into the storyline. What I CAN tell you, however, is that I have laughed, cried, hugged my Kindle, and wished there had been another thousand pages of this BEAUTIFUL book for me to read. I have loved pretty much every Mariana Zapata novel I have ever read, but she has outdone herself with this one.
K.A. Tucker’s endless imagination and ability to deliver vibrant, unconventional love stories that resonate deeply with her readers shine once again in this gripping tale of second chances and rediscovered love. Both a nostalgic summer camp romance that captures the sweet intensity of first love, as well as a hopeful story of new beginnings, it explores the very real complexities of whether a romance between two people from opposite worlds can ultimately survive in the real world. This is the kind of story that hits you right in the feels and stays with you long after it ends.
Whenever a new Riley Hart romance comes out, I pretty much stop reading whatever book I am in the middle of, and dive right into her latest masterpiece. Her slow burn romances are my weakness, bursting with emotion and so much chemistry between the characters, but this story might be one of my fave ones of hers. Two men linked by a tragic moment in time meet by chance at the lowest points in both their lives, and begin building a tender friendship. But somewhere along the way, a spark of attraction catches fire, and they become lovers. With so much pain and guilt weighing them both down, however, they soon realise that love alone can’t fix them, and that they have to fight for their happily ever after.
I’m an avid reader of historical romances, but few authors continue to amaze me with the way they engage so purposefully with female identity, body norms, and sexuality in their stories, rather than merely accept the traditionally accepted. And Sarah MacLean is one of those authors. There is so much to adore about her writing—from her elegant but sharp prose, to the intense chemistry between her characters—but to me, her true gift in this genre lies in the way she refocuses history on the perspective of the woman by giving us fierce, trailblazing heroines and the men who champion them, rather than push them to the back. I can confidently say that stories like these are THE reason I will never stop reading romance novels.
Renowned for her female leads that are aware, independent, brave, and freethinking, Byrne’s heroines are wonderfully modern without seeming out of place in their 1800s setting, and her latest novel reflects more than ever an era that gave rise to so many progressive women and female social reformers. The heroine is her own knight in shining armour—she is the daughter of an Earl, an accomplished archaeologist, and a rape survivor, but a dark secret from her past leaves her with no other choice but to propose marriage to a man whose touch she dreads. And while her male counterpart is a tortured alpha whose own past might have made him distrustful of any woman wishing to marry him, he proves to be a broadminded, protective, and devoted partner in all the ways that matter. Kicking off a brand new series that centres on the lives and loves of three fiercely independent best friends, Kerrigan Byrne delivers a dazzling tour-de-force novel that tackles head-on the lingering terror and lasting effects of living as a survivor of sexual violence. She does so sensitively but unflinchingly, and her every word takes your breath away.
