MURDER MYSTERY
It was supposed to be a relaxing vacation in sweet, sunny Cape Cod—just me and my beloved brother—but discovering a corpse in our rental house really throws a wrench into our tanning schedule. Now a rude, crude bounty hunter has arrived on the back of his motorcycle to catch the killer and refuses to believe I can be helpful, despite countless hours of true crime podcast listening. She’s also brave and beautiful and reminds me of the home I left behind three years ago. In other words, the painful hunger and protectiveness she is waking up in me is a threat to my peace of mind. Before I sink any deeper into this dangerous attraction, I need to solve this murder and get back on the road. Welcome to the Swype House,
where the secrets are bigger than the…The rules are simple:
Fake it for the cameras.
Do it for the views.
Don’t kill each other. It felt like an easy yes when I was invited to change my bio from, “Kaia Blakely, college student,” to “Kaia Blakely, newest influencer at the Swype House.”
Then I met Declan Royce. His profile highlights his looks and his humor, but it ought to read, “Owner of an ego so large, it was given its own zip code.”
Suddenly, not killing each other feels like an impossible task.
So yes, it was death threats we were whispering in the background of that viral video, not sweet nothings. So no, there’s zero reason to keep the #Kailan hashtag trending.
Except that it’s our job. So it looks like we’re adding another rule to the list:
Don’t let anyone find out the truth.

It started with a kiss.
Admittedly, it was a moment of weakness on my part. But even the strong-willed have been known to fall for a hard body underneath a tailored suit and a five o’clock shadow coating a sharp jawline.
It didn’t matter that Jackson St. James was nothing but trouble. Trouble was just my type.
Been there.
Done him.
Not making that mistake again. We were friends, a low-key affair we designed ourselves—over before we began. After all, together we made no sense.
Jackson is into sports. I prefer the arts.
He gulps beer. I sip champagne.
While I might not be described as humble, his arrogance is through the roof. But when he asks if we can talk, my traitorous Louboutins come to a full stop. Although I’ve seen enough movies to know how these conversations go, maybe, just maybe, he’ll surprise me.
He has before . . .
We may have started with a kiss, but how will we end?

ENEMIES TO LOVERS + WORKPLACE ROMANCE
Am I friends with JP Cane?
Ha! That’s laughable.
Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can’t be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we’re not friends. He’s annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons . . . multiple times a day.
So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we’re sharing the same air, twenty-four-seven. We’re talking full-fledged working roommates.
The man doesn’t know what it means to wear a shirt, thrives off protein bars, and you guessed it, moans loud enough for people to believe he’s Meg Ryan in a restaurant.
Spoiler Alert: I WON’T be having what he’s having.
Tack on his continuous flirting and his polished good looks, and I’m caught staring down the barrel of a seductive temptation that makes it hard for me to sleep at night.
But guess who can control herself? This girl.
Because if there is one thing I know for certain, it’s that JP Cane and I are so not meant to be.

ENEMIES TO LOVERS
Nothing like a little rivalry between scientists to take love to the next level.
Mara, Sadie, and Hannah are friends first, scientists always. Though their fields of study might take them to different corners of the world, they can all agree on this universal truth: when it comes to love and science, opposites attract and rivals make you burn…
Logically, Sadie knows that civil engineers are supposed to build bridges. However, as a woman of STEM she also understands that variables can change, and when you are stuck for hours in a tiny New York elevator with the man who broke your heart, you earn the right to burn that brawny, blond bridge to the ground. Erik can apologize all he wants, but to quote her rebel leader—she’d just as soon kiss a Wookiee.
Not even the most sophisticated of Sadie’s superstitious rituals could have predicted such a disastrous reunion. But while she refuses to acknowledge the siren call of Erik’s steely forearms or the way his voice softens when he offers her his sweater, Sadie can’t help but wonder if there might be more layers to her cold-hearted nemesis than meet the eye. Maybe, possibly, even burned bridges can still be crossed….

An astonishing tale of family ties, loss, and forbidden love comes alive through Jennifer Hartmann’s sublime writing and deeply human characters in a novel that is so beautifully written and thought out, you’ll want to reread it almost as soon as you reach the end. Hartmann compels with her every sentence, capturing the essence of growing up and the warmth of enduring love ever so perfectly, and even with a steady onslaught of tragedies that the characters must face over the years, she weaves a triumphant tapestry of their lives, thread by painstaking thread.
Karen Booth takes us back to the beauty circles of Manhattan with another ‘over-40 romance’ that shows us it’s never too late to find true love in life in It’s a Widow Thing. And this time around, a heartbroken widow finds herself smitten with a merciless flirt living down the hall from her, but while she’s not looking for a serious love connection, he is at a stage in his life where he’s finally ready to settle down, and his gorgeous, whip-smart neighbour is the only woman he wants a forever with. A heartwarming, low-angst story of two people moving at different speeds in their relationship, but travelling steadily towards the same dream. An absolute joy to read!
The third instalment in the Adair Family series takes us back to the Scottish Highlands with the much awaited story of Arrochar “Arro” Adair and Mac Galbraith. Arro has been in love with her brother’s best friend and head of security for longer than she wishes to admit, but their thirteen-year age gap has always stood in the way of them becoming more than just friends. Now a woman in her thirties, Arro can no longer see any issue with their difference in age, but when she makes her intentions known, she discovers that the only man she’s ever loved might not love her that way in return. Or there could be something else keeping them apart… I absolutely loved Samantha Young’s meticulous attention to detail when developing the characters, making us understand the reasons behind their actions, and slowly building up this age-gap romance into the kind of story that stays with you far past the last page. And the subtle thread of unrequited love puts the angsty cherry on top that I always hope to find. This series only keeps getting better and better.
Lucy Lennox is a relatively new-to-me author, but she’s quickly becoming one of my go-to writers in the Romance genre. I’ll be honest with you, I jumped into this series knowing all too well that this is the fourth book set in that world, and I was completely fine with that. Julian and Parker have been inseparable since they were kids, their bond one of friendship, loyalty, and unconditional love. But while Parker has only ever seen Julian as his beloved best friend, Julian has been secretly pining for Parker for the past twenty years. So, when Parker is left at the altar by his fiancé, Julian whisks him away to a snowy cabin in Aster Valley to help him get over the heartbreak. However, the only thing that Parker is feeling is relief when it comes to the wedding that never happened. A few kisses quickly turn into so much more, but while Parker is ready to go all in and show the man he’s always loved that he is not going anywhere, Julian has a hard time trusting the change in their relationship. Sizzling hot and oh-so emotional, I devoured this wonderful book in a day.
