The perfect blend of sizzling sexual tension and heartwarming romance, the Legal Briefs series is a must-read for anyone seeking well-written, feel-good stories to lose themselves in. And even though the third book in the series, Appealed, was also meant to be the final one with one of the best epilogues ever, Emma Chase is giving us just a little bit more!!! Here’s a note from the author:
First off, thanks so much to Natasha is a Book Junkie for sharing this exclusive, exciting announcement!
I had a great time writing the Legal Briefs Series—Overruled, Sustained & Appealed. It’s the first standalone series I’ve done in which the books can be read out of order, and the characters make appearances in each other’s stories. It made for warm, playful, sexy storytelling that hit that sweet emotional chord all of us crave.
Although the extended epilogue in Appealed wrapped everything up as I’d always planned, when I typed that last *The End* it didn’t feel like THE END. These characters, who had become so precious to me, weren’t finished just yet – they still had more to say.
I’m thrilled to announce that I’m bringing you that story in a new Legal Briefs novella, SIDEBARRED!
The gang’s all here—as funny and inappropriate, loyal and heartwarming as ever. This one’s for you, wonderful readers! Thank you letting these characters into your hearts and for enjoying them every bit as much as I have.”
Chelsea sits beside me on the couch, facing me, her legs tucked, her pretty feet curled under her. Yes—Chelsea has pretty feet, okay? I never knew feet could be pretty—until I saw hers.
“So . . . that talk I mentioned before? We should probably have that now, while we can.”
I take a sip of my drink and nod. “Yeah—I wasn’t at all hoping you’d forget about it or anything.”
Her face slides into a grin. “Funny.”
I look back at her, straight-faced. “I’m a funny guy.”
When she doesn’t say anything for a few moments, I ask, “What’s up?”
Because now I’m actually getting concerned. My stomach tightens as I brace for whatever’s worrying her—and before I even know what I’m up against, in my head I’m already planning all the ways I’ll take care of it. Because that’s what I do—and I’m good at it.
But what she tells me next blows my fucking mind.
Two words—ten thousand thoughts exploding in my head at once.
I’m a big guy, six-five, 225 pounds of muscle. Guys like me, our voices don’t squeak. But at this moment, mine comes damn close.
“Like . . . for an appointment?”
Chelsea inhales deeply, then breathes out, “No.”
