I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept.
The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could’ve stayed forever, I would have.

Because—four hours earlier—my twin sister killed herself.

SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE + SINGLE DAD
The last time I saw Nevada Kane, I was seventeen and he was loading his things into the back of his truck, about to embark on a fourteen-hour drive to the only college that offered him a full ride to play basketball.
I told him I’d wait for him. He promised to do the same.
But life happened.
I broke my promise long before he ever broke his. And not because I wanted to.
We never saw each other again …
Until ten years later when Nevada unexpectedly returned to our hometown after an abrupt retirement from his professional basketball career. Suddenly he was everywhere, always staring through me with that brooding gaze, never returning my smiles or “hellos.”
Over the years, I’d heard that he’d changed. And that despite his multi-million dollar contracts and rampant success, life hadn’t been so kind to him.
He was a widower.
And a single father.
And rumor had it, he’d spent his last ten years trying to forget me, refusing to so much as breathe my name … hating me.
But just like a rebound, he’s back.
And I have to believe everything happens for a reason.
This is a standalone novel.

This is the classic tale of boy meets girl: Girl…goes home with someone else.
Meet Eve. She’s a dreamer, a feeler, a careening well of sensitivities who can’t quite keep her feet on the ground, or steer clear of trouble. She’s a laugher, a crier, a quirky and quick-witted bleeding-heart-worrier.
Meet Ben. He’s an engineer, an expert at leveling floors who likes order, structure, and straight lines. He doesn’t opine, he doesn’t ruminate, he doesn’t simmer until he boils over.
So naturally, when the two first cross paths, sparks don’t exactly fly. But then they meet again. And again. And then, finally, they find themselves with a deep yet fragile connection that will change the course of their relationship—possibly forever.
Follow Eve and Ben as they navigate their twenties on a winding journey through first jobs, first dates, and first breakups; through first reunions, first betrayals and, maybe, first love. This is When Harry Met Sally reimagined; a charming tale told from two unapologetically original points of view. With an acerbic edge and heartwarming humor, debut novelist Leslie Cohen takes us on a tour of what life looks like when it doesn’t go according to plan, and explores the complexity, chaos, and comedy in finding a relationship built to last.
This is a standalone novel.

My name, surely.
What is it you whisper, Ava?
Please, tell me. Whisper those sounds to me again, even just once, I beg you.

I was always an outcast which was fine by me. It’s what kept my brother and me alive. Survival is something that isn’t taught in public schools, but it damn well should be. Rumors about my past and the fact that I’ve long operated in the grey areas of the law abound, but the good people in this city could give a f***. What they do care about is that I donate to whatever charity their guilty conscience prods them to support.
Even as a kid I instinctively knew that I needed to be the alpha. That’s the same ingrained knowledge that animals are born with. You assert your dominance early on and reinforce it as needed. It wasn’t that I enjoyed fighting as some did. Hell, I’d never considered myself a violent man by nature. But if it comes down to the him or me scenario, then it’s gonna be him every time. The enemies-turned-lovers trope has always been a personal favourite of mine, the intoxicating combination of hostility and intense sexual tension between the characters being a heady cocktail I’ve never been able to resist, and Santino Hassell’s latest offering is a sexy supernova that leaves the reader bursting from all the feels. The tale of two rival football players suspended from the game they love and forced to ‘play nice’ while battling their feelings for one another, this book owned me cover to cover, and on more than one occasion, it left me utterly breathless.
I can confidently say that this is now one of my FAVOURITE SERIES EVER. Another angsty, intense, uber-emotional love story, this is a tale of second chances, of new beginnings, of two hearts leading to one another regardless of how much life pulls them apart, and with a thrilling shiver of suspense interwoven into the story, this book was my undoing cover to cover.
The third book in Kerrigan Byrne’s Victorian Rebels series takes us from the bustling streets of London to the Scottish Highlands where we finally meet the Laird of the MacKenzie clan. Best known as the Demon Highlander, he is feared by all but one—his new English governess, a headstrong beauty who manages to tame the beast in him, all the while hiding her true identity from him. SO good!
After falling in love with The Highwayman, I simply could not wait to read Christopher Argent’s story, and unsurprisingly, I was enthralled from the very first page. The story of a ruthless assassin who falls for the woman he was paid to kill in cold blood, this is the kind of book that makes you want to shut out the world around you and escape into it with no interruptions.
I might never be able to fully express how much I adored this book, but if you’re in the mood for a superbly written historical romance brimming with emotion, angst, sexual tension, with an enigmatic, tortured hero, a kind, strong-willed heroine, and a touching tale of second chances at the core of it, then look no further.
A heartfelt, delightful tale of new beginnings and the healing power of love, sprinkled with just the right balance of heart-prickling angst and suspense, and beautifully told, as always—the story of Eliza ‘Izzy’ Forrester and Johnny Gamble filled my heart to the brim with emotion and awe, and I only wish I would have savoured it for much much longer.
Nikki Sloane’s first toe-dip into the New Adult genre might be a considerable departure from her much racier novels, but as always, she delivers a story that is impossible to put down and an absolute joy to read. Sexy, witty, engaging, this book was my undoing from the very first page, and just thinking about it makes me want to re-read it all over again.
